ABOUT PRODUCTID 23909
This pair of P376 pendant lamps, designed by Jørgen Kastholm and Preben Fabricius for Nordisk Solar, exemplifies Danish modernism at the intersection of the 1960s and 1980s. The construction features five concentric aluminum shades with gently curved, downward-tapered edges and a central cylinder made of brushed brass. The entire lamp is finished in a cool, matte white that highlights the harmony of its form, while the brass element provides a subtle contrast. Suspended from a black textile cord and completed by a new metal ceiling canopy, the lamps display no visible joints or hardware, underlining the meticulous attention to detail. There are no decorative motifs or additional colors—only a restrained, monochromatic palette that lets the geometry speak. Each lamp measures 55 cm in diameter and 23 cm in height. Both are in very good condition, with only light age-appropriate marks and no signs of restoration or significant damage. The form of the P376 lamps conveys the rational spirit of Danish design—a time when lighting was carefully orchestrated to foster comfort and tranquility in the home. The concentric metal layers diffuse light softly, avoiding glare and producing an even, calm glow. The interplay of cool aluminum and the warmth of brass creates a quiet dialogue: industrial precision meeting understated elegance, evoking interiors where design was a trusted companion rather than mere decoration. These lamps can be hung above a large dining table or in a spacious living room styled in mid-century modern fashion. They pair well with oak or walnut furniture and clean, geometric forms.
