ABOUT PRODUCTID 23403
This pair of antique photo frames, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, originates from Central Europe, most likely the Alsace region. Each frame is crafted from thick, beveled glass with a cool, slightly greenish-clear tone. The pronounced, wide bevels along the edges impart a geometric clarity characteristic of the Belle Époque era. The metal elements—including spherical feet and the upper and lower rails—feature a matte, aged finish with natural patina and subtle oxidation marks. The original cardboard backs and slender metal supports remain intact, providing stable display on a desk or console. Each frame contains its original period studio photograph (circa 1900–1910), which can be easily replaced. The design is restrained and functional, highlighting the quality of the glass and understated decorative details—there are no unnecessary embellishments, only a focus on clarity and purpose. Condition: very good for their age; the glass is intact with no chips or cracks, the metal remains stable and authentic with natural patina, and there is no evidence of modern restoration. These frames seem to voice the spirit of their era, when craftsmanship met emerging modernity. The thick glass, gently softened by time, filters light in a manner typical for the Belle Époque—subtle sheen and a matte finish evoke the ambiance of bygone photographic studios. The spherical feet and beveled edges tell a story of simplicity preceding Art Nouveau ornamentation, of quiet elegance at the turn of the century, when even the smallest everyday objects carried a sense of history and discreet refinement.A matching set of frames from this period may be displayed on a living room
