ABOUT PRODUCTID 42244
This pair of vintage Chinese rugs, each approximately 70 × 150 cm, embodies the artisanal tradition of Peking and Tientsin carpet workshops from the mid-20th century. Crafted entirely from hand-spun wool on a cotton warp, the rugs feature a dense, plush pile, distinctive relief contours, and a velvety texture. The central motif presents a stylized dragon – symbolizing protection and prosperity – rendered in cobalt, navy, and cream, surrounded by pastel peonies. The wide border displays traditional Chinese attributes and floral garlands, symmetrically arranged in shades of powder pink, beige, green, and vibrant blue. Edges are finished with white cotton fringes. The construction is robust, with meticulous detailing and finishing. Both rugs are preserved in very good condition, with vivid colors and even pile, showing no visible wear or restoration. The price refers to a complete set of two identical rugs. These rugs evoke the voice of Far Eastern tradition,
