ABOUT PRODUCTID 29467
This pair of wall lamps, produced by the renowned Limburg glassworks in Germany during the 1970s, stands out with its sculptural, shell-inspired silhouette. The shades are made of opaline, creamy-white glass with a uniform matte surface, accented by pronounced, symmetrical ridges radiating from base to edge, faithfully echoing the natural geometry of a seashell. Each lamp is mounted on a concealed metal base, maintaining the purity of the lines and underscoring the minimalist intent of the design. With dimensions of 21 × 21 × 11 cm, their precise craftsmanship is evident in the seamless assembly and consistent color and texture. The lighting accommodates standard E27 bulbs (max 60 W, LED compatible). Both lamps are preserved in excellent vintage condition, with no visible damage, discoloration, or signs of heavy use.
These lamps evoke the spirit of 1970s modernism, when functionality merged with a quest for new, organic forms. The opaline glass gently diffuses light, like the soft shadow of morning sun on a white wall, while the bold shell-like ridges conjure the rhythm of waves and the calm pulse of nature. The discreet metal base recedes into the background—glass takes the lead, offering subtlety and clarity typical of modernist and Bauhaus-inspired styles.
The lamps can be paired with low, geometric teak or walnut furniture, as well as minimalist sofas and neutral-toned rugs to
