ABOUT PRODUCTID 17559
This pair of early 20th-century French table lamps is hand-carved from solid alabaster, reflecting the neoclassical urn (gazon) silhouette. Crafted from single blocks of alabaster, each lamp displays a balanced composition: flared rims, pronounced waists, gently rounded bodies, and layered bases, all shaped with meticulous attention to classical proportions. The stone’s coloration ranges from soft ivory or warm off-white to cooler greyish hues, enhanced by fine natural veining and subtle variations in tone – a signature of refined alabaster. The finish is smooth and lightly grainy, revealing a gentle, satin-like luster with occasional hints of patina. Traces of gentle usage are present but limited to age-consistent, natural signs; there are no damages or notable flaws. The electrical wiring has been updated with an in-line switch on the visible cord. Both lamps remain in very good condition, free from cracks or chips, and preserve the authenticity and harmony of original antique objects. The translucency of natural alabaster softly diffuses light, creating a gentle glow reminiscent of the refined ambiance of the early
