ABOUT PRODUCTID 1362
This pair of table lamps from the 1920s, made in Poland, represents an early take on Art Deco lighting—combining warm, satin-matte brass with white, velvety frosted glass. The gently contoured bases and semicircular arms reflect the geometric discipline of the period, while the shades’ vertical fluting and softly scalloped edges evoke naturalistic, floral motifs. Inspired by lily-of-the-valley blossoms, the frosted glass shades diffuse light evenly. Each lamp is equipped with a black rotary switch mounted on the base and adjustable joints that allow the angle of illumination to be changed. The electrical wiring has been updated and the sockets accept E27 bulbs. The overall condition is very good—there is only minimal patina on the brass and minor surface marks, with no cracks or chips to the glass. In this pair, the subtle voice of the 1920s can be heard: light filters through milky glass, recalling the atmosphere of pre-war salons where conversations unfolded in gentle glows and every detail mattered. The brass structure speaks of early Art Deco’s optimism and modernity, while the adjustable, floral glass shades remind us that even the most geometric era drew inspiration from nature.
