This pair of wall lights from Fischer Leuchten, dating from the 1960s, exemplifies robust German design in the mid-century modern idiom. Each sconce features a rectangular backplate crafted from satin-finished brass, supporting a semi-cylindrical shade made of thick, handmade 'iced' glass. The glass is transparent yet heavily textured, with organic, undulating patterns that diffuse the light into a soft, atmospheric glow. The junctions between the brass and glass are precise, giving the fixtures a sense of solidity and durability. One lamp retains its original pull cord, underscoring its authenticity and period accuracy. Designed for E14 bulbs, both sconces are in very good condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or significant wear. The brass patina remains uniform and unaltered.
