ABOUT PRODUCTID 29693
This pair of wall lights, designed by Helena Tynell for Limburg (Germany, 1960s), represents a striking example of mid-century modern lighting. Each fixture features a hand-blown bubble glass shade, crafted from clear, cool-toned glass with a highly glossy surface. The three-dimensional texture, composed of rounded glass protrusions arranged in an organic cluster, forms a circular, domed silhouette measuring 21 cm in diameter and 11 cm in depth. Discreet metal bases, subtly concealed behind the glass, provide stability while complementing the sculptural quality of the shades. The craftsmanship is evident in the seamless, uniform finish and the precise, balanced arrangement of the bubbles. The pair is in very good vintage condition—no chips or cracks to the glass, with minor wear to the metal bases consistent with age. These wall lights evoke the spirit of the 1960s—a period when light and form merged to transform interiors with new emotion. The transparent glass, refracted across dozens of bubbles, turns any wall into a stage for the interplay of light and shadow. The lamps seem to whisper of postwar optimism, of fascination with organic forms, and of an era eager to experiment with materials—each shimmering reflection a subtle echo of a time that celebrated the joy of everyday objects. They can be mounted in a living room to highlight a lounge area or to accentuate a dining space. The organic bubble structure pairs well with other mid-century elements: a wooden sideboard on slender legs, an understated upholstered chair
