This pair of wall sconces, produced in the 1960s by the Elektrotechniczna Spółdzielnia Inwalidów in Kraków, Nowa Huta, embodies the restrained clarity of mid-century modern and postwar Polish modernism. The main bodies are crafted from light, honey-toned beech wood with a smooth, matte finish, offset by cylindrical elements of polished copper in a warm, golden hue. Large, opal-white bulbs are set in sockets framed by square wooden brackets with rounded corners and highlighted by visible, white circular caps. The rectangular backplates with rounded edges and circular cut-outs behind the bulbs reinforce the geometric composition and visual lightness. The palette—natural brown, golden copper, and white—together with the proportions (height 32 cm, width 19.5 cm, depth 16.5 cm), create a sense of understated refinement. Condition: very good, with no visible signs of heavy use and fully functional wiring.
