This pair of ‘Bubble’ style wall or ceiling lamps exemplifies 1980s German design, combining glass and metal in a form that is both decorative and functional. Each fixture features a substantial, round glass shade made of clear, slightly silvery glass. The glass is thick and precisely molded with a dynamic, raised bubble pattern and circular motifs, creating an expressive play of light and shadow. The glossy surface accentuates the three-dimensional effect, while the sturdy steel base, visible from the underside and sides, provides structural support. Each lamp is fitted with an E27 socket and measures 24 × 24 × 11 cm. The lamps are in good vintage condition, with a delicate patina on the metal parts and subtle signs of use characteristic of authentic 1980s originals. The form of these lamps engages in a dialogue between geometric discipline and the freedom of organic lines. The glass, reminiscent of ice disturbed by a drop of water, tells of the 1980s fascination with light and texture—a decade when design eagerly experimented with material and surface structure.
