ABOUT PRODUCTID 19240
The Diamant wall sconces, designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup in the 1960s, represent a geometric interpretation of Danish mid-century modernism. Each sconce is constructed from metal, likely lacquered aluminum. Distinctive, alternating diamond-shaped panels create a sculptural and dynamic form measuring 37 cm in height, 20 cm in width, and 14 cm in depth. A warm matt yellow dominates, interspersed with vivid orange accents between the panels. The structure features precise, sharp lines and a cohesive color palette, with light beige power cords discreetly complementing the design. Both sconces are preserved in very good vintage condition, with only minimal, superficial traces of use typical for the age. All components appear original, with no visible signs of restoration. These sconces echo the voice of the 1960s—a time of modernist exploration and fascination with light. The diamond panels form a pulsing, architectural rhythm, expressing the era's boldness in merging raw geometry with vibrant color. Their form alludes to period experiments in directing light and shade, as if the sconces themselves draw graphical patterns upon the wall, playing intense yellow and orange against restrained surroundings. Each detail is conceived as part of a new visual order where both color and shape are equally prominent.Diamant sconces can be used as a striking wall accent in living rooms, dining rooms, or hallways with mid-century modern style. When paired with neutral surfaces—like white or light concrete—these lights allow their color and structure to take center stage. They may be combined with teak furniture, streamlined sofas, or minimalist tables and artwork in fine frames to
