This pair of wall sconces or flush mounts, designed by Helena Tynell for Limburg in the late 1960s and 1970s, exemplifies the refined mid-century modern aesthetic rooted in German glassmaking tradition. The thick, molded glass shades feature a light amber, champagne-tinted hue that enhances the interplay of light on their glossy surface. The distinctive bubble texture on the front is contrasted with ribbed, vertical sides, creating a harmonious rhythm of structures and reflections. Each sconce is round and gently convex (26 cm in diameter, 13 cm deep), set on discreet metal bases that remain hidden from view, ensuring all attention is focused on the sculptural quality of the glass.
