This pair of wall sconces designed by Marcello Fantoni represents Italian Brutalism from the 1970s. The construction features vertically arranged, hand-forged steel rods of varying lengths, rendered in a deep metallic grey with subtle bronze and copper highlights. The overall finish is predominantly matte, punctuated by occasional glossy accents along the edges and raised surfaces of the metal. Visible welds and irregularities emphasize the artisanal, handcrafted nature of the design. At the core of each piece is a thick, ribbed Murano glass diffuser in a rich amber-yellow hue, partially enveloped by the steel structure. The proportions—53 cm in height and 14 cm in width—lend the sconces a slender, vertical rhythm, while the robust build and harmonious integration of glass and metal define their presence.
