ABOUT PRODUCTID 20747
This pair of Kinna wall sconces, produced by Swedish brand Markslöjd in the 1970s, represents the functional Scandinavian design ethos of that era. Crafted from solid pine with a light honey tone and pronounced natural grain, the lamps feature a simple, geometric form with a round wall base and a straight arm supporting the shade. The conical shades are covered in coarse, off-white fabric, reminiscent of linen or jute, with a subtle, irregular weave that adds tactile interest. Each reflector is finished with a white plastic diffuser at the front, which gently disperses the light for an even, softened glow. The construction is honest and utilitarian, with visible metal screws attaching the shade to the wooden arm – a hallmark of Scandinavian modernism. The reflector measures 16.5 cm in diameter and extends 25 cm from the wall. Both lamps are in very good condition: the wood shows no patina or discoloration, the fabric is clean and intact, and there are no signs of heavy wear. These sconces echo the spirit of 1970s Sweden: a narrative of respect for simplicity and nature, with light filtered through sturdy fabric. The softness of pine meets the straightforwardness of functional form
