This pair of Orrefors wall sconces, designed by Carl Fagerlund for the renowned Swedish glassworks in the 1960s, embodies the essence of Scandinavian mid-century modernism with a subtle nod to Hollywood Regency glamour. The structure is defined by robust, golden solid brass frames with rectilinear proportions, visible screws, and mechanical joints that emphasize precise craftsmanship. The thick, heavy crystal glass shades are distinguished by a geometric grid pattern and raised circular motifs reminiscent of ice or pressed glass, creating a dynamic sculptural surface. When illuminated, the glass projects intricate light and shadow effects onto the wall. Brass details, including small spherical finials (one missing on one sconce), complete the composition.
