This pair of wall sconces by Vitrika is an expressive example of Danish modernism from the 1960s. The construction is based on the interplay between warm, red-stained wood with visible, subtle grain and softly matte opal glass shades. Geometric, rectangular wooden arms with characteristic round perforations are balanced by the organic, bulbous lines of the glass shades that flare gently upwards. The perforations serve both a decorative and functional purpose, allowing light to escape laterally. The proportions are harmonious: the glass shades visually dominate but do not overwhelm the compact wooden bases. The original Vitrika labels with number 17531 are preserved on the reverse. Condition is very good – all elements are original, the wood has a uniform patina, and the glass is free from blemishes or discoloration. The sconces are fully functional. The listed price refers to the pair – both sconces are included.These sconces tell the story of Danish design, where simplicity of form meets a subtle play of light and color.
