ABOUT PRODUCTID 2401
This pair of wall sconces by Belux, designed by Jurgen Medebach in Switzerland during the 1990s, embodies the modernist design ethos of the late 20th century. Each sconce features a slightly curved, rectangular body crafted from brushed aluminum and steel, with a finely ribbed, horizontal texture that imparts a subtle, matte silver sheen. The focal point is the pair of movable glass spheres in deep, translucent red, positioned at the lower inner edge of each fixture. This contrast between the raw metallic form and the vivid red glass introduces a distinctive visual accent, perfectly in line with the minimalist tendencies of the era. Measuring 28 × 25 × 8 cm, each sconce accommodates a single light source with a maximum wattage of 300W. The set remains in very good condition, with the metal showing no dents or major scratches; one glass ball displays a minor internal imperfection, characteristic of hand-crafted elements and the passage of time. The design of these lamps speaks in the language of modernism—cool in material yet expressive in detail. The silvery aluminum reflects light with disciplined clarity, while the suspended red spheres add a measured note of color, like drops of pigment
