ABOUT PRODUCTID 23721
This pair of wall sconces, designed by Carl Fagerlund for MPR Denmark in the 1960s, exemplifies craftsmanship that unites the nobility of materials with the rigor of geometric form. Each sconce consists of two thick panels of pressed, transparent crystal glass with a pronounced, grid-like texture and starburst motifs that effectively diffuse the light. At the center, a mirrored, gold-plated disc acts as a reflector, introducing depth and a subtle decorative accent. The main structural elements and mounting plates are crafted from high-gloss brass, plated with 24-carat gold. The edges are adorned with small, rhythmically arranged brass rings, lending the whole composition a jewel-like, almost sculptural character. The proportions are harmonious, with an overall mid-century modern style and a decorative twist characteristic of Scandinavian design from the era. The wiring has been replaced with modern cable and switches. Condition is very good – the glass is free from damage, and the brass elements show no signs of tarnish or wear. These sconces evoke the refined world of 1960s Scandinavian modern
