This pair of wall sconces by Glashutte Limburg, produced in Germany in the 1980s, exemplifies the era's approach to modernist lighting—functional, geometric, and striking in scale. The dominant feature is the large, spherical opal glass shade in a warm, milky white with a high-gloss finish, diffusing light evenly across the space. The supporting structure combines a matte black aluminum wall mount and a vertical stem in polished, chrome-plated brass, providing a metallic contrast to the soft glass. The proportions are carefully balanced: each sconce measures 35 cm in width, 48 cm in height, and 46 cm in depth. They are fitted for E27 bulbs. The sconces are preserved in very good vintage condition, with only minor paint loss on the black mounting parts and no visible damage to the glass.
