ABOUT PRODUCTID 1878
This Italian wall sconce from around 1900 exemplifies palace lighting at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Crafted from gilded bronze, its warm golden hue is emphasized by a scalloped, ornate edge, while concentric circles of faceted crystal glass beads form the main composition. At the center, a cut-glass lens with a starburst motif is framed by a slim gold ring. The sconce is fitted with its original brass E14 socket, compatible with modern bulbs, and is designed for vertical wall mounting. With proportions of 21 cm in length, 13 cm in width, and a 12 cm projection, the construction is solid, and the highly polished crystals provide a radiant display of light. The piece remains in excellent condition, showing only minimal, noble patina on the bronze and no visible damage or restoration marks. The sconce echoes the voice of Italian fin de siècle splendor: gilded bronze and crystal beads compose a tableau reminiscent of the illuminated halls of early 20th-century palaces or urban residences. The crystals capture and diffuse light
