ABOUT PRODUCTID 1523
This faceted crystal paperweight from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, created around 1900, exemplifies the refined glassmaking of the Art Nouveau period. Crafted from high-quality crystal glass with a cool, slightly bluish transparency, its geometric cut features numerous planar facets that expertly refract and reflect light, creating a play of highlights characteristic of fin-de-siècle decorative arts. Inside, a vibrant floral composition of multicolored glass and delicate air bubbles is set: a central blue-petaled flower surrounded by smaller yellow-green accents and a textured green base reminiscent of moss. The lower portion is adorned with hand-applied orange-red wave motifs that introduce a subtle sense of movement. Both height and diameter measure 10.5 cm. The condition is excellent, with no visible damage, chips, or signs of wear; original finish and decorative details are intact and well preserved. This crystal paperweight speaks with the voice of an era when nature and craftsmanship harmonized with the dawn of modernity. Its interior evokes a miniature garden suspended in glass, where flowers and colored waves are stilled as if captured in an Art Nouveau illustration.
