This crystal pen stand with silver mount was created in Germany around 1900–1920. The compact, square block of colorless crystal glass is defined by its cool transparency and high-gloss finish, accentuated by precise, geometric cuts. Two semicircular notches are designed for resting a pen, while the central compartment serves as a holder for nibs. The removable crystal insert sits within a solid 800 silver frame, hallmarked with state German silver marks (crown and crescent) and a maker’s mark. The matte, subtly aged silver mount is supported by four small spherical feet, giving the piece a slight elevation and a sense of lightness. The craftsmanship is meticulous, with seamless transitions between materials and no visible imperfections.
