This early 20th-century pendant lamp, crafted in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, exemplifies the refined decorative craftsmanship at the intersection of late Historicism and early Art Deco. The spherical shade, made of opaline white glass with a 25 cm diameter, features hand-painted polychrome decoration: matte motifs in sepia and golden-brown hues form geometric fan patterns and a garland of oval beads and laurel leaves encircling the upper portion. Color transitions are subtle, creating a soft gradient effect, while a polished brass ring and suspension rod complete the design. The shade is attached with three visible brass screws, and a modern textile-braided electrical cord allows the use of contemporary E27 bulbs. The piece is in very good condition—no cracks or chips in the glass, the paintwork is complete, and there are no significant signs of wear or restoration.
