ABOUT PRODUCTID 14431
This pendant lamp, designed by Jaroslav Antonin Junek for Czech manufacturer Zukov in the 1960s, exemplifies the modernist 'Brusel' style combining functional form and decorative freedom. The shade is made of milky white glass with a pronounced crackle texture and is adorned with irregular hand-sprayed patches in vibrant red, blue, and yellow. Its soft, rounded silhouette gently tapers towards the top, complemented by chrome-plated metal elements with a mirrored finish. The seamless junction between glass and metal showcases the high craftsmanship of the era. The lamp is fitted with updated wiring for safety, remains in very good condition, showing no damage or significant signs of wear. Illuminated from within, the glass tells the story of the 1960s—a decade of optimism, discovery, and a search for new visual languages. Each hand-applied splash of color evokes a fascination with individualization and applied arts, while the crackled surface captures the spirit of experimentation in materials and light. The lamp seems to echo softly: 'Sometimes, just a touch of color is enough for a space to gain lightness and for modernity to find its own, singular voice.' Suspended above a dining table or at the center of a living room, the lamp can be matched with teak or walnut furniture and minimalist forms to bring out its modernist pedigree. It also integrates well into eclectic interiors alongside ceramics and geometric-patterned textiles; its energetic palette blends harmoniously with neutral walls or contrasting pops of 1960s-inspired color
