This pendant lamp, designed by Jaroslav Antonin Junek and produced in the 1960s by Zukov for Napaco in Czechoslovakia, is a striking example of the Brusel style that defined Central European modernism. The hourglass-shaped shade, crafted from semi-translucent opaline glass by the glassworks in Meziříčí (Krasno), diffuses light across a cool, matte white surface. Hand-applied, spiraling black lines of varying thickness encircle the shade, creating a dynamic decorative motif and accentuating its sculptural narrowing. The lamp hangs from a simple white cord, with no visible metal fittings or decorative hardware, emphasizing its minimalist, modernist aesthetic. It features an E27 socket and adjustable height. The electrical installation has been replaced. The lamp is preserved in excellent condition, with no visible signs of wear or damage.This lamp echoes the pulse of the 1960s, when Central European design embraced organic curves and expressive, hand-painted details in search of new modernity.
