This pendant lamp, designed by Jaroslav Antonin Junek and produced by Zukov for Napaco in Czechoslovakia, is a notable example of the Brusel style from the 1960s. The lamp features a tall and slender hand-blown glass shade, gently flaring towards the base, with a semi-translucent milky white finish that diffuses light softly when illuminated. A glossy black collar at the top transitions smoothly into the white glass, creating a bold visual contrast and emphasizing the lamp’s elegant silhouette. Delicate, hand-applied vertical yellow lines run along the glass, each shade unique thanks to the airbrushed decoration method. The lamp is suspended from a black cord and finished with a black, conical metal ceiling canopy. It is fitted with an E27 bulb socket and offers adjustable hanging height. The electrical installation has been replaced, and the lamp is in very good vintage condition—smooth glass, crisp lines, and no visible damage or significant wear.This lamp reflects the voice of modernist Czechoslovakia: glass shaped for everyday elegance, light and color interacting to create plastic, diffused effects as soon as the bulb is lit. Brusel, a style born of Expo 58’s optimism, speaks here through precise lines and organic detail—as if the lamp tells a story of faith in progress, yet craves an individual touch.
