ABOUT PRODUCTID 29639
This Vitrika pendant lamp from the 1960s/1970s is a distinguished example of Danish mid-century modern design. The shade is constructed from nine thick, textured glass panels—alternating between clear and amber—mounted on a matte satin brass frame. Its geometric layout and rounded vertical brass elements create a distinctive, almost floral outline. Inside, a waffled, cylindrical glass diffuser softens the light, enhancing the atmospheric effect. The lamp is suspended from a twisted brown cord that complements its materials and color palette. The piece is preserved in very good vintage condition, exhibiting gentle patina and minor signs of age on the brass, typical for the era. All elements appear original and authentic, with no visible damage or repairs.
The lamp’s form echoes the refined voice of 1960s Denmark: discreet elegance where light and material engage in a visual dialogue. The pressed glass panels, reminiscent of stained glass fragments, filter the light to cast subtle reflections in tones of amber and gold. The brass frame gently completes the composition, while the tactile glass texture lends the light a soft, timeless quality—evoking the measured evenings of decades past. It quietly narrates a story of balance and functionality, where every detail serves both visual appeal and everyday comfort.
This model would serve as a striking centerpiece above a round dining table or in a lounge area furnished with organic-lined seating and natural fabrics, especially within a mid-century modern interior. It can be paired with an oak or teak sideboard, a
