ABOUT PRODUCTID 14580
This pendant lamp, designed by František Peceny for VEB Narva Leuchtenbau and produced in Germany in the late 1970s, features a cylindrical shade crafted from heavy, pressed glass with a pronounced bubbled texture, dispersing light in a subtle and unpredictable manner. The top section is finished with a warm, copper-toned metal sleeve whose gently reflective surface contrasts with the matte quality of the glass. The lamp hangs from a white cable and is topped by a smooth, beige plastic ceiling rose. Dimensions: total height 125 cm, both shade and ceiling rose diameter 9 cm, shade height 17 cm. The lamp fits an E14 bulb up to 60W. It is preserved in very good original condition, showing only minimal, period-consistent traces of use typical for vintage pieces. The design channels the essence of late-1970s German functionalism. The interplay of pressed glass and copper evokes a dialogue between industrial austerity and understated ornamentation—the bubbled glass texture animates the light, scattering gentle, irregular reflections across the room. When illuminated, the lamp nods to atmospheric evening interiors where meticulous craftsmanship meets the intimate poetics of light
