ABOUT PRODUCTID 31768
This pendant lamp, designed by Bent Nordsted in Denmark in the 1970s, exemplifies mature Scandinavian modernism. Its structure consists of concentric aluminum discs with a satin finish in warm champagne gold and copper tones. The widest lower disc is finished on the underside in a creamy white, allowing for even light diffusion, while the inner, more reflective surface enhances the lighting effect. The lamp is suspended from a black, textile-covered cord and complemented by a metal ceiling rose in a matching tone. All elements connect seamlessly, with no visible screws, underscoring the precision of the craftsmanship. The lamp measures 47 cm in diameter and 25 cm in height. It is preserved in very good vintage condition, with only minimal discolorations and traces of patina typical for aluminum from the period. The lamp’s form reflects the spirit of the 1970s, when Scandinavian design skillfully blended functionality with architectural lightness. The geometric, concentric rings create a harmonious composition, gently diffusing daily life in a soft, metallic glow. The satin aluminum surface reflects light in a discreet and even manner, while the warm tones evoke the mood of Danish interiors where light shaped clarity and balance. This fixture tells a story of the quest for calm and function, eschewing unnecessary ornamentation. The lamp can be hung above a dining table, in a living room inspired by mid-century modern, or among pale woods and simple, tranquil forms to highlight its modernist heritage. It pairs well with a neutral palette of beiges, greys, and olive tones, but also fits in eclectic
