ABOUT PRODUCTID 23811
The Konkylie pendant lamp, designed by Louis Weisdorf for the Danish manufacturer Lyfa in 1963, exemplifies the bold modernism of the 1960s. Its construction consists of twelve identical, curved aluminum panels spiraling into an organic, dynamic shape reminiscent of a shell or an open flower. The exterior surface features a cool, mirror-like silver with a satin sheen, while the inner sides of the panels reveal striking accents of red, teal blue, and muted turquoise—visible from different angles and under changing light. Precise rivets and a black textile cord emphasize the lamp's airy, floating character. The piece is preserved in very good vintage condition—showing only minor scratches, gentle patina, and small dents typical for original pieces from the era, all carefully cleaned.Konkylie's spiral form channels the spirit of Danish modernism: a narrative of searching for harmony between geometry and the flowing lines of nature. The lamp appears to twist in the air, capturing and scattering light in vibrant, ever-changing reflections. The subtle transition from cool metal to hidden color accents evokes the rhythm of day and night—as if the lamp were revealing the secrets of the spaces it once illuminated. Every detail, from visible rivets to the soft curve of the aluminum, speaks to the belief that design can be both disciplined and poetic.Konkylie can be suspended above a dining table or as a centerpiece in a living room, where its sculptural structure becomes a natural focal point. It pairs well with minimalist furnishings—light wood, chrome, or glass will accentuate its three-dimensional profile. It is worth combining with textiles in neutral shades of white, grey, or green, allowing the lamp's color accents to take center
