ABOUT PRODUCTID 11350
The Orient pendant lamp, designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup in 1963, is a signature example of Danish mid-century lighting. Its shade, crafted from brushed aluminum, takes the form of a water droplet, displaying a matte silver finish with a subtle horizontal grain. The upper section is capped with a dark, almost black, conical wooden accent that transitions seamlessly into the black suspension cord. Around the base of the cap, evenly spaced vertical slits serve both as decorative details and subtle light outlets. The lamp's proportions are harmonious: a wide, softly rounded lower body elegantly tapers to a slender top. A white diffuser at the base ensures gentle, glare-free downward illumination. The lamp measures 36 cm in diameter and 30 cm in height, with a cable length of approximately 200 cm. Condition: vintage, with visible surface scratches and minor signs of wear consistent with age, but no significant dents or structural damage. The Orient lamp tells the story of modernist Denmark—a time when simplicity stood for progress. Its droplet form evokes Nordic rain, while the contrast between matte aluminum and the dark cap echoes the region's shifting light. The fine vertical slits and the soft glow from the diffuser
