The PH 4/3 pendant lamp, designed by Poul Henningsen for the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen in the 1960s, stands as one of the most iconic examples of Scandinavian modernism in lighting. Its structure is based on three concentric metal shades, arranged in a cascading form according to the logarithmic spiral principle. The silhouette is harmonious and balanced—the largest shade dominates the composition, while the smaller ones, subtly nested below, complete the design. The matte finish in a cool, saturated shade of blue minimizes glare and enhances the effect of soft, diffused light. The underside of the middle shade, in a darker blue or black, serves as a refined chromatic accent. The lamp is suspended from a thin, white cord, emphasizing its minimalist character. The construction is precise, with smooth, seamless connections and no visible fasteners. The lamp is preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear or damage; the wiring has been replaced with new components.This lamp carries the voice of the Danish design revolution: when Poul Henningsen created the PH system, he responded to the need for soft, functional light that was also visually distinctive.
