ABOUT PRODUCTID 6214
The PH 5 pendant lamp, designed by Poul Henningsen in the 1970s and produced by the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen, is a hallmark of Scandinavian modernist lighting. Its distinctive, layered metal construction consists of three main dish-like shades of varying diameters, complemented by two smaller cylindrical elements at the top and bottom. The exterior is finished in a matte, cool violet, while the inner surfaces reveal white and soft blue tones, enhancing light diffusion and minimizing glare. The geometric precision of the design is emphasized by matching metal struts and a sculptural silhouette. The lamp is suspended from an original 90 cm white cord and includes the original ceiling rose, accommodating a standard E27 bulb. Its condition is very good, with only minor surface scratches consistent with the age, and no major damage. This lamp speaks with the voice of Danish modernism, telling the story of an era when light and function became central to design. The violet shell and tiered forms recall a time when Poul Henningsen redefined domestic ambiance, prioritizing visual comfort and subtle mood. Light gently filters through the white and blue shades, creating a soft, diffused glow that, true to Scandinavian functionalism, balances visual presence with everyday ease.
