ABOUT PRODUCTID 28896
The PH5 pendant lamp, designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen in 1958 and produced in Denmark in the 1960s, stands as one of the most iconic symbols of Scandinavian modernism. Its construction is based on a multi-layered metal shade, precisely shaped into gently curved, geometric forms. The lamp’s main color is a cool, medium-saturated lavender purple with a matte finish, contrasted by white inner surfaces that enhance the diffusion of light. Minimalist metal connectors join the layers, and the entire fixture is suspended from a simple metal rod. Functionality is key: the thoughtful design ensures the light is evenly diffused and never glaring. This example is preserved in very good condition, with only subtle discoloration on the top and minor scratches on the inner rims. The wiring has been replaced, ensuring the lamp is fully functional. This lamp gives voice to an era when light became part of everyday ritual. The PH5 expresses Danish restraint, with every detail shaped by function and harmony. The lavender hue evokes the atmosphere of the 1960s—a time when design sought to soften reality and bring gentle clarity to interiors
