ABOUT PRODUCTID 1937
The Polam pendant lamp from Wieliczka is an example of 1960s Polish design, produced by Zakłady Sprzętu Oświetleniowego Polam Meos. Its shade is made from layered, profiled glass, with a sculptural, softly rounded form characteristic of Pop Art aesthetics. The dominant color is a warm, creamy yellow that gradually transitions into lighter, almost vanilla tones near the base; the glass surface is smooth, glossy, and highly reflective. The lamp is suspended from a black cord and finished with a black ceiling canopy. Its proportions—wide, gently curved lower section and a slimmer, tiered upper part—create a harmonious silhouette that is instantly recognizable as mid-century. Equipped with an E27 bulb socket and a newly replaced electrical system, the lamp’s height can be adjusted via the cord. The condition is very good—the glass is flawless, the shade gleaming and free from imperfections. This lamp tells the story of an era when Pop Art was bursting with color and form, and Polish lighting manufacturers eagerly embraced international trends. Its soft curves evoke an optimistic outlook on the future, while the yellow glass gradient speaks to the dawn of a new design era: bold yet inviting
