ABOUT PRODUCTID 7135
This space age pendant lamp from the 1970s features a geometric, sputnik-inspired design, blending mid-century modern lines with the era’s fascination for space exploration. The central matte black sphere anchors four long, highly polished chrome steel arms, each ending in a large, opal-white glass globe. Between the main arms, four shorter chrome rods with cylindrical finials introduce a rhythmic, atomic-era accent. Measuring approximately 75 cm in width and 30 cm in height, the lamp’s construction is precise and seamless – with invisible joints, no visible screws on the main body, and a perfectly balanced radial arrangement. The cool, reflective chrome contrasts with the deep matte black of the core elements, while the glossy opal glass globes soften the overall look. The lamp requires four E14 bulbs. It is preserved in very good condition, showing no signs of wear, dents, or damage; all elements are original, without evidence of restoration. This lamp echoes the voice of a decade when dreams of the future and cosmic expansion permeated daily life. Its form speaks of the optimism of the 1970s – geometric symmetry and chrome sheen evoking an era of experimentation and hope, when even a household lamp could resemble a fragment of a spacecraft. Smooth opal glass diffuses the light gently, transforming the interior into a capsule ready for a new journey – an echo of times when design dared to look forward. The lamp can be placed in a retro-influenced living room or a loft
