This UFO pendant lamp from the Space Age era, produced by the Belgian company Massive between 1968 and 1976, is a hallmark of design inspired by the fascination with space exploration. The shade, measuring 46 cm in diameter and 31 cm in height, is crafted from two types of glass: the upper section is a deep, warm brown with a glossy finish, while the lower part is made of opal white glass. The lamp hangs from a characteristic black spiral cord, with chrome-plated metal fittings accentuating its period style. The overall geometry is distinctly aerodynamic, with a wide, gently flared base tapering smoothly into a cone—evoking the futuristic aesthetic of the 1970s. Materials include colored and opal glass as well as chrome-plated metal. The lamp is fitted with an E27 bulb socket. Its proportions are balanced, and the surface of the glass is smooth and reflective, without visible signs of repairs or damage.
