This pendant lamp by Szarvasi, Hungary, dating from the 1960s, offers a quintessential example of space age modernist lighting with a strong focus on geometry and functionality. The construction features three large, spherical shades crafted from glossy plastic, each rendered in a seamless ombre gradient—from warm beige at the base to vibrant apricot-orange at the top. The high-gloss finish of the shades gives them an almost glass-like, reflective quality. A dark brown, matte-finish metal central hub and arms provide a bold contrast to the luminous shades. The lamp is suspended from a characteristic black spiral cord, allowing adjustable height between 40 and approximately 100 cm, so the lamp can be tailored to a variety of spaces and lighting scenarios.
