ABOUT PRODUCTID 30776
This pendant lamp, produced by Zakłady Sprzętu Oświetleniowego ZAOS in Poland in the 1970s, exemplifies authentic Space Age design. The striking, conical shade is crafted from opal, milky-white glass with a smooth, glossy surface that diffuses light evenly. The lamp’s proportions are carefully balanced: the wide base of the shade (30 cm in diameter) tapers gently upward to a metal stem with a satin or matte finish. The ensemble is completed by an off-white plastic ceiling canopy, displaying visible signs of age and damage. A distinctive red cap crowns the top of the glass shade, providing a bold accent characteristic of the era. All components remain original, with no visible restoration. The glass shade is free from cracks, with only minor chips at the top edge that are concealed once the canopy is installed. The lamp is electrically functional and uses an E27 bulb. Condition: good, with minor signs of age and wear on the ceiling canopy. The lamp’s form tells the story of the 1970s fascination with the future and geometric simplicity. Its smooth glass and bold conical line recall the optimism of the space exploration era, when Polish design sought new, modern solutions for everyday objects. The red accent atop the shade is a nod to the era
