ABOUT PRODUCTID 10734
This pendant lamp from the 1970s exemplifies the mid-century modern style that defined European lighting design of the era. Its construction features two substantial, pressed glass rings with a repeating oval relief, giving the piece a sculptural, geometric presence. Between the glass segments, a wide, polished chrome band introduces a cool, metallic accent and emphasizes the lamp’s horizontal line. The fixture is suspended from a straight, chrome-plated rod topped with a white, matte plastic ceiling cover. The transparent, slightly cool-toned glass and glossy finish enhance the interplay of light and shadow, while the lamp’s compact, cylindrical silhouette measures 40 cm in height and 25 cm in width. Both glass and chrome are in good condition, with only minor wear visible as a scuff on the lower part of the chrome mount; the glass remains free of blemishes. The lamp is preserved in good overall condition. This piece echoes the spirit of the 1970s: bold geometry, symmetry, and the tactile texture of glass evoke interiors where light was an essential element of the composition. Its form tells the story of a time when objects were crafted to be both functional and visually distinctive—glass diffuses the light, casting soft reflections across the room, while the chrome band, like a frame, brings order and rhythm to the design. The lamp embodies an era unafraid to experiment with texture and material contrast
