ABOUT PRODUCTID 23571
This pendant lamp from the 1960s, produced by Zukow for Napaco in Czechoslovakia, is a representative example of mid-century modern with a Brussels-style twist. The tall, gently tapered cylindrical shade is crafted from cased soda-lime glass, featuring a matte, cool white surface adorned with vertical lines of yellow geometric triangles. These vivid yellow accents animate the minimalist form, introducing a dynamic rhythm characteristic of the era. The lamp is suspended from a white cord with a matching white canopy, emphasizing the clean, functional silhouette. It is fitted with an E27 socket, offers adjustable hanging height, and has a new electrical installation. The lamp is preserved in very good condition—no damage is visible on the glass, and there are no signs of wear or restoration. This lamp speaks in the language of its time: an era when geometry and color were statements of optimism and modernity. The yellow triangles against the white background evoke the energy of postwar Europe, when design was meant to inspire and bring joy to everyday life. The lamp seems to tell a story of a period in which light and form encouraged people to see their interiors anew—even the matte finish of the glass invites a different perspective on space. In an interior, this lamp can be paired with pale woods such as oak or beech and wool textiles to highlight its calm yet graphic character. It works well in a living room with Scandinavian influences—alongside a low wooden table or a sideboard with tapered legs. It is worth combining with other geometric details: a 1960s graphic poster, ceramics with bold shapes, or textiles featuring repeating patterns. In a minimalist setting, the lamp will serve as a subtle, collectible focal point. The lamp features an E27 socket and adjustable suspension height.
