This perfume bottle, crafted for Sormani Paris around 1900, combines crystal glass with meticulously fitted silver mounts. The body is adorned with vertical fluted (cannelure) grooves, accentuating the harmonious proportions and allowing light to play across the smooth, transparent surface. The silver cap, hallmarked with French silver marks, is finished with a delicate acanthus leaf ornament and engraved with the Sormani Paris wolf symbol. Beneath the cap, an original inner glass stopper ensures an airtight seal. The form is compact, with a gently rounded body and a slender, tapering neck. The piece is preserved in excellent collector’s condition, free from chips or cracks, and shows only minor age-related signs typical for antique crystal. This flacon tells the story of the turn of the 20th century, when French craftsmanship sought to unite luxury with the finesse of everyday objects. The fluted glass evokes the atmosphere of Parisian Belle Époque interiors, while the cool silver and acanthus motif quietly reference Art Nouveau influences.
