This hand-knotted Persian Keshan carpet from Iran (260 × 380 cm) exemplifies refined craftsmanship from the late 19th to early 20th century. Made entirely from high-quality wool, its dense, soft pile ensures both durability and a subtle sheen. The composition centers on a large, intricate medallion in navy blue, ivory, and light blue, surrounded by a network of floral motifs, spiraling vines, and arabesques. The deep red field contrasts with accents of navy, blue, ivory, gold, and green. A wide border, decorated with repeating ornaments and the weaver's signature 'Kashan, Mohammad Amin Behboudi & Sons' in a cartouche, frames the piece. Balanced proportions and a palace-like aura are characteristic of classic Persian design.
