This hand-knotted Persian Bakhtiari rug, measuring approximately 215 × 315 cm including fringes, is a quintessential example of craftsmanship from the Shahr-e-Kurd region in Iran, where the nomadic Bakhtiari people have created unique compositions since the early 20th century. Its construction features a cotton foundation with a wool pile made from naturally oily, lustrous mountain sheep wool.
