This hand-knotted Persian rug originates from the Hamadan region in southwestern Iran and exemplifies the traditional craftsmanship of the 1980s. Made entirely of high-quality wool, it measures approximately 220x147 cm including hand-knotted fringes. The composition features a symmetrical central medallion, richly adorned with floral and garden-inspired motifs on a densely woven surface. The dominant, deep red hue is intertwined with prominent accents of navy blue, cream, green, light blue, pink, as well as subtle tones of gold and brown, resulting in a harmonious multicolor effect. The border is wide and densely decorated with repeating floral patterns, framed by several narrow guard stripes. The surface subtly shimmers in the light, and the pile is smooth yet tactile, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. The edges are robustly finished, and the corners display minimal curling typical of vintage pieces. The rug is preserved in very good condition, with no visible stains or tears, and has been professionally cleaned.
