ABOUT PRODUCTID 16799
This early 20th-century Austrian pharmacy jar represents the late historicist style blended with early Art Nouveau influences. Made from highly glossy glazed ceramic, it offers a softly reflective surface that accentuates its form. The cylindrical body is completed by a domed lid featuring a practical knob. The primary color is creamy white, adorned with vibrant, hand-painted decoration in deep blue, red, yellow, and accents of green. Distinctive horizontal bands in red and blue create a rhythmic contrast on both the jar and the lid, while the front displays a large cartouche marked "BOL ARMEN", framed by baroque- and Art Nouveau-inspired foliate motifs. The decoration is precisely executed, with crisp, symmetrical hand-painted lines and no chips, cracks, or visible discolorations. The condition is excellent—no signs of wear, flawless glazing, and coloration. The contours and decoration of this jar subtly evoke the world of early 20th-century apothecaries, when the presentation of medicinal stores was as critical as their content. The hand-painted floral and foliate motifs function as a silent witness to an era when pharmacy jars testified to the craft, education, and artistry of their owners
