This miniature millefiori photo frame, crafted in Italy at the end of the 19th century, reflects the tradition of exquisite micro-mosaic workmanship. Made from gilded brass and colored glass, it features a vibrant floral garland composed of countless tiny tesserae in shades of blue, pink, yellow, red, purple, and green. The center, protected by a glass pane, is designed for a photograph measuring 4.6 × 3.4 cm, encircled by a twisted brass border. The frame’s curvilinear, arched shape and the black-and-white geometric border evoke the late Victorian decorative arts. Its glossy surface and gold accents with subtle patina complete the composition.
