This miniature round photo frame, crafted in Venice between 1900 and 1920, exemplifies the finesse of Italian decorative arts at the crossroads of the Belle Époque and Art Nouveau. Measuring approximately 8.5 cm in height and 8 cm in width, the frame is made of gilded brass with a warm, subtly matte finish. The front is adorned with a millefiori micro-mosaic: tiny, multicolored glass tesserae are meticulously arranged in a repeating floral pattern over a deep cobalt blue ground. Accents of white, red, yellow, and green create a tapestry of countless flowers, while the outer rim is bordered by a fine zigzag motif in white and blue. The piece stands on two small, spherical brass feet and retains its original, slightly convex glass. Condition is very good—there is no visible damage to the mosaic or the brass, only minor signs of age.
