This early 20th-century Austrian Art Nouveau photo frame is crafted from a white metal alloy, finished with a warm, matte gilding in an antique gold shade. The frame's surface is predominantly smooth, punctuated by areas of raised ornamentation and detailed relief, with subtle patina and darker accents enhancing the depth. The upper section features an openwork decoration of geometric lines and stylized forget-me-not flowers, typical of the Viennese Secession style. Gently curved sides with elongated vertical cutouts, and a lower section adorned with swirling botanical motifs and elegant scrolls, rest on two short, outwardly arched feet. Designed for standing display, the frame is fitted with a rear support and protective glass pane, suitable for a 9.5 × 16 cm photograph. It remains in very good condition, showing only minor signs of age such as small abrasions and light darkening of the gilded surface.The frame echoes the spirit of the fin de siècle: organic curves and stylized blossoms evoke the atmosphere of Viennese salons, where nature found its way indoors through flowing Art Nouveau ornamentation.
