ABOUT PRODUCTID 1837
The 'nude' pitcher, designed by Zbigniew Horbowy in 1971 for Huta Szkła 'Sudety' in Szczytna Śląska, embodies the mature phase of Polish glass design at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. Crafted from mass-colored, soda-lime glass with a foamed texture, the vessel measures 40 cm in height, with a diameter of 9 cm and a length of 10 cm. Its slender, elongated silhouette features a gently flared spout and an elegantly arched handle matching the overall tone. The coloration transitions from a deeper beige at the top to a lighter, almost creamy shade at the base. The surface is smooth and semi-gloss, free from visible texture or decorative pattern, emphasizing the purity of form and minimalist spirit. The seamless construction reveals no joints or manufacturing marks, and the condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or signs of wear. This pitcher speaks with the voice of Polish modernism—its restrained shape expresses confidence in the material, while the subtle color gradient evokes the early 1970s, when glass was celebrated as both utilitarian and sculptural. Horbowy, a master of nuance, seems to whisper through this vessel: “Beauty lies in simplicity and harmony.” The smooth glass surface catches the light, diffusing it softly, while the elongated profile appears as a stream paused in motion, ready to cast the everyday in a new light. The 'nude' pitcher can be paired with mid-century modern objects, such as a low walnut sideboard or a simple light-wood shelf, where its delicate beige hue becomes a gentle highlight. It fits seamlessly into collectors’ interiors and minimalist spaces—working well both as a standalone piece or alongside other Horbowy vessels or
